Be Creative @ the Hatch Public Library

In addition to weekly storytimes, parents and children of all ages are invited to attend weekly Special Programs throughout the Summer. All the Special Programs are FREE and open to the public!
  • TRUCK SHOW- Monday, June 29—10:00 AM Back by popular demand—Big Truck Show behind the Library at Riverside Park. See a fire engine, police car, grader, backhoe and other City of Mauston equipment!

  • PET PARADE- Tuesday, July 7—10:00 AM March down State Street in our 4th Annual parade. All pets are welcome, but each pet MUST be on a leash if possible. Meet at Riverside Park for registration.

  • BLUEBERRY JACK and ANN KRUGER-Tuesday, July 7-Noon Come to Riverside Park for an informative look at the past. See how to make arrowheads and learn how to spin wool.

  • WILD WORM RACE- Saturday, July 11 —11:00 AM Join us at Riverside Park for an exciting, nail-biting event for the whole family. We supply the worms and the race tracks. First place for the fastest worm wins a trophy!

  • RICH BAUMANN- Tuesday, July 14—6:00 PM Singer/Storyteller– along with guitar and fiddle, Rich plays mandolin, banjo, autoharp and several more unusual instruments.

  • SODA PUPS- Monday, July 20—1:00 PM Five energetic Pomeranian dogs named RC, Ginger Ale, Sierra Mist, Squirt, and Dr. Pepper perform tricks—one even rides a Hummer—See the famous Green Bay Packer trick!

  • Special Program- Wednesday, 10:00AM & 1:00PM Shari Sarazin and her Celtic harp.

  • JEFF McMULLEN- Tuesday, July 28—6:00 PM Former Ringling Bros. clown and motivational speaker— the Magic of Laughter is full of age appropriate audience participation. Be ready to laugh!

ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Elroy artist Ruth Gamerdinger has her work featured in the Library this month. Ruth has always been interested in drawing. She is mostly a self-taught artist. She has studied with fellow Wisconsin artists Margaret Blumgardener, Daniel Gerhardt and Mary Ulm to increase her skills. Ruth paints in oils and her favorite subjects are old cars and still life objects.

Every Thursday from 2PM to 5PM starting June 11th we're having Game Days!
For kids 13-18 years old - Play Super Smash Bros Brawl, apples to Apples, Taboo, Uno, and other fun party games!

Reminder

The Hatch Public Library will be CLOSED Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day. We will reopen for regular hours on Monday, July 6, 2009. Also remember there are no storytimes or baby play groups for the first 3 weeks in June, they resume on June 30th, with
the start of the Summer Reading Program.

Online Gaming

What is online gaming, and how do you play?

June’s computer class will be about online gaming, 3D worlds, immersive
environments, RPGs and MMOs.

If you do not know what that means, come to the class, at 6:00 PM, July 28th and be ready for some fun Q&A!

On Display

This month, the display case in the front lobby will feature a beautiful collection of antique glass candle holders.
The collection is on loan from Cheryl Dixon for the entire month of June.
